Join Vincent and Tangella as they watch “Twins of Evil” from 1971 with Peter Cushing and the Collinson Twins.
Note: this is an encore presentation from our October 14th, 2022 Friday show. New episodes return next week.
Set in 17th century Styria, "Twins of Evil" explores the chilling tale of Maria and Frieda Gelhorn, identical twins with contrasting dispositions, who become ensnared in a horrific blend of witchcraft and vampirism. After the death of their parents, the sisters move to live with their strict Puritan uncle, Gustav Weil, who leads a fanatical witch-hunting group. While Maria abides by her uncle's rigid moral code, Frieda is drawn to the enigmatic Count Karnstein, a man rumored to engage in dark and forbidden practices. As sinister forces awaken and familial bonds are tested, the village's grim atmosphere thickens, setting the stage for a confrontation between human and supernatural evils. This film is a dark gothic tale that captures the struggle between purity and corruption, innocence and malevolence.
