A withdrawn young man obsessed with death spends his time staging fake suicides and attending strangers’ funerals, much to the dismay of his wealthy, controlling mother. At one service, he meets a spirited 79-year-old woman with an unconventional outlook on life. As their unlikely friendship deepens, she introduces him to art, music, and small acts of rebellion around San Francisco. Their bond challenges expectations and unsettles those around them, gradually reshaping his perspective on how to live.
