In 1984, Los Angeles waitress Sarah Connor becomes the target of a relentless killer who appears to be hunting women with her name. A mysterious soldier, Kyle Reese, intervenes and claims that her pursuer is a cyborg sent from the future. Reese warns Sarah that an artificial intelligence called Skynet will someday wage war against humanity, and that her survival is crucial to the resistance. As the assassin closes in, Sarah and Reese flee through the city, seeking refuge while police struggle to understand the attacks and the strange circumstances surrounding their pursuer.
