In the satirical comedy "Sleeper," Woody Allen stars as Miles Monroe, a jazz musician and health food store owner from the 1970s who finds himself unexpectedly thrust into a future he could never have imagined. After a routine operation goes awry, Miles is cryogenically frozen, only to be awakened 200 years later in a bizarre and authoritarian society. With no identity in this new world, Miles is coerced by a group of rebels into spying on the oppressive government. Disguised as a robot, he ends up in the home of Luna Schlosser, a socialite with whom he forms an unlikely alliance. As they navigate a series of comedic misadventures, their relationship evolves amidst the backdrop of a society filled with absurdities and an imminent governmental conspiracy. "Sleeper" cleverly blends science fiction elements with Woody Allen's signature humor to critique contemporary society and politics.
