Frightmare (1974)
New Releases • 1h 26m
Edmund and Dorothy Yates (Rupert Davies and Sheila Keith) were once notorious killers who committed gruesome acts of cannibalism. They were institutionalized but have been released under the care of psychiatrist Dr. Lytell (Leo Genn), who believes they are now rehabilitated and can live normal lives.
However, it becomes apparent that the couple's desire to refrain from their murderous inclinations is more difficult than anticipated. After their release, they secretly continue their horrifying activities, killing and consuming their victims. Edmund, in particular, is driven by an insatiable hunger for human flesh.
Their daughter, Jackie (Deborah Fairfax), is suspicious of her parents' behavior and starts investigating. She learns about their grisly past and begins to fear for the safety of her friends and herself. As her investigations intensify, she unravels a web of deception and horror that threatens to expose her parents' true nature.
As the bodies pile up and suspicions grow, the film takes a dark and twisted turn, leading to a shocking and chilling climax that exposes the depths of the Yates family's depravity.
