In this 1975 science fiction horror film, an earthquake unleashes a mysterious breed of fire-starting insects. When a tragedy strikes, Professor James Parmiter becomes obsessed with studying the creatures, eventually crossbreeding them with cockroaches to create an intelligent new species. As the insects adapt and evolve, Parmiter's fixation leads him into increasingly dangerous territory. Directed by Jeannot Szwarc and based on Thomas Page's novel, "Bug" is the final project from producer William Castle.
