Released in 1991, Dolly Dearest is a supernatural horror film about an American family that relocates to Mexico after the father acquires a long-abandoned doll factory. Their young daughter becomes attached to a porcelain doll linked to a nearby archaeological dig and an ancient local legend. As unsettling behavior and unexplained incidents begin to affect the household, the parents struggle to make sense of what is happening while warnings from those around them go largely ignored. Set amid factory ruins and underground tombs, the story follows the family as a hidden influence begins to tighten its grip.
