In this darkly comic British horror film from 1973, a once-celebrated Shakespearean actor, thought to be dead, re-emerges to take poetic revenge on the theater critics who scorned him. Each murder is staged to mirror a gruesome death from the Bard’s plays, with a flair for the theatrical and a macabre sense of irony. As the bodies pile up, suspicion turns toward the world of the stage, where drama and death are inseparably intertwined.
