After a tragic accident ends his career as a concert pianist, Vernon Paris undergoes an experimental double hand transplant. The surgery is a success, but the emotional toll proves far more complex. As Vernon struggles to accept his new hands—donated from a murder victim—his grip on reality begins to fray. Surrounded by suspicion and a growing sense of dread, those close to him begin to realize something is terribly wrong. Released in 1962, this brooding psychological horror film explores identity, trauma, and the terrifying idea that the past may live on in unexpected ways.
