A chilling British horror film from 1980, The Godsend tells the story of a family whose kindness leads them down a tragic path. When Alan and Kate Marlowe encounter a mysterious pregnant woman, they bring her home and help deliver her baby. The next day, the woman disappears, leaving the infant in their care. Despite Alan’s reservations, Kate insists they keep the child. As the years pass, unsettling events unfold, and the Marlowes begin to suspect that their new daughter may not be as innocent as she seems. Adapted from Bernard Taylor’s novel, the film delivers a slow-burning sense of dread that lingers long after the final scene.
