Slaughter of the Vampires (1962), also released as Curse of the Blood Ghouls, is an Italian horror film set in 19th-century Austria. A newlywed couple, Marquis Wolfgang and his wife Louise, move into an old castle, unaware of the dark presence lurking within. During a lavish ball, Louise falls under the spell of a mysterious nobleman, leading to a series of strange occurrences that leave her health in rapid decline. As Wolfgang desperately seeks help, he uncovers a sinister truth tied to the castle’s dark history. With the aid of a determined doctor, a deadly confrontation with the undead unfolds. Featuring gothic atmosphere and eerie cinematography, this low-budget yet visually striking film captures the haunting allure of classic European vampire tales.
