"Circus of Horrors" (1960) unfolds a gripping narrative set in 1947, where Dr. Bernard Schüler, a plastic surgeon with a checkered past, seizes an unconventional opportunity to escape his dark history. After a catastrophic failure in England, Schüler flees to France, where he manipulates his way into owning a circus, using it as a facade for his medical ambitions. Under his management, the circus transforms into a sanctuary for disfigured performers, whom he surgically enhances. As the performers' beauty captivates Europe, their desires to leave set the stage for sinister outcomes.
