The Lost Continent (1968) is a fantastical adventure from Hammer Films that follows a desperate group of travelers aboard the tramp steamer Corita as they flee their troubled pasts on a perilous voyage across the Atlantic. When disaster strikes at sea, the crew and passengers find themselves adrift in a fog-shrouded stretch of the Sargasso Sea—a bizarre and deadly place teeming with aggressive seaweed, monstrous sea creatures, and the remnants of an ancient society untouched by time. As danger closes in from all sides, survival depends on courage, resourcefulness, and uneasy alliances with unlikely companions. Combining elements of nautical suspense and surreal fantasy, this unusual tale delivers a blend of menace and imagination against a backdrop of exotic perils and eerie encounters.
