Set in rural Tennessee, this 1987 science-fiction horror film follows a farming family whose land is forever changed after a mysterious meteorite crashes nearby. As the surrounding environment begins to behave strangely, crops, animals, and eventually people are affected by an unsettling contamination. Tensions rise within the household as fear, suspicion, and isolation take hold, while a local doctor and civic leaders struggle with whether to expose the growing threat. Inspired by H. P. Lovecraft, the film blends rural drama with creeping cosmic unease.
