In the post-apocalyptic world of 2293, the division of humanity into immortals, the Eternals, and mortals, the Brutals, sets the stage for "Zardoz." The Eternals lead a life of luxury within the confines of "the Vortex," relying on the Brutals to supply their sustenance. Zed, a Brutal Exterminator, propelled by curiosity, stows away in the stone idol Zardoz, leading to his capture within the Vortex. As a prisoner among the Eternals, Zed's presence challenges the status quo, unveiling the decay beneath the surface of eternal life. The film explores themes of immortality, societal decay, and the quest for meaning in a seemingly purposeless existence. With its unique blend of science fiction and fantasy, "Zardoz" offers a thought-provoking glimpse into a future where the quest for eternal life leads to unforeseen consequences.
