In 1978’s The Shout, a mysterious drifter named Crossley insinuates himself into the isolated Devon home of composer Anthony Fielding and his wife, Rachel. Anthony experiments with electronic sound in his rural studio, while Crossley claims to possess a terrifying secret learned from an Aboriginal shaman: a lethal “terror shout.” As Crossley embeds himself deeper into their lives, tensions rise and loyalties shift within the remote household. What begins as uneasy hospitality becomes a dangerous struggle over power, belief, and survival in the countryside.
