A mysterious plague sweeps across the United States, reanimating the recently dead as flesh-eating zombies. As cities fall into chaos and the government struggles to contain the outbreak, four survivors escape Philadelphia by helicopter and take refuge inside a suburban shopping mall. With food, medicine, and supplies at their disposal, they attempt to build a secure life while the undead gather outside. Their fragile sanctuary is tested by dwindling resources, human conflict, and the constant threat of intrusion from both the living and the dead.
