In this 1995 science fiction drama, a reclusive young man named Jeremy, nicknamed “Powder,” enters a world that has no idea how to handle him. With a pale complexion and unique abilities, Jeremy is quickly set apart from others and thrust into environments that test the limits of understanding and acceptance. His presence sparks unease, fascination, and at times hostility, as those around him struggle to comprehend his extraordinary intellect and strange electromagnetic powers. As he navigates social isolation, institutionalization, and brief human connections, Jeremy forces others to confront their own fears and prejudices. Set in rural Texas, the film offers a quiet and contemplative atmosphere, allowing its themes to unfold through character interaction and emotional tension.
